Family Friday

"At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the positive involvement of parents" -Jane D. Hull

The Week of the Young Child concludes with Family Friday, a recognition that parents are their child's most important and first teachers.

The Power of Parent Involvement

Your active participation in your child's early childhood education sets the stage for future success. Studies consistently show that when parents are involved early, they are more likely to remain involved when their child enters elementary school. This involvement can significantly improve your child's attendance, test scores, social skills, behavior, relationships, and overall feelings about school.

RPS 205 Early Childhood Programs for Families

RPS 205 Early Childhood is committed to providing families with opportunities to actively engage in their child’s education. These include:

Opening Doors: A parent education program offered in both English and Spanish. Sessions focus on school readiness, family well-being, and advocacy.

Incredible Years: This program aims to strengthen parenting competencies and boost involvement in school experiences. It promotes children’s academic, social, and emotional skills, fostering readiness for school. Additionally, a variety of other workshops and experiences are offered throughout the school year.
